Schools Getting Involved
Cotteridge Park is a great place for local schools to come and find out about the environment and have a go messing about in the great outdoors
Kings Norton Girls' School
KNGS have adopted Cotteridge Park as a project for their Citizenship studies. Since Spring 2008 groups of Year 9 students have been helping out in the park. They come for a day and have a go at everything from pruning and digging, clearing the stream and helping even younger visitors get the most from the park. They have also helped us with the other aspects of running a community group - visiting partner organisations and writing funding applications.

Cotteridge Primary School use Cotteridge Park for lots of activities. In the summer they hold sports day in the park, they carry out projects and experiments in the park, build dens and hold picnics. They have 2 beds in the orchard; one has a changing display of flowers and the other is part of their World War 2 Dig for Victory project - this year they are growing potatoes.

KNBS are stalwarts at CoCoMAD. The Gardening Club run the plants and produce stall and they are always keen stewards for the procession. They have also provided many of the performers for the main stage. In 2008 Tempting Rosie were a wonderful opening act.
In 2009 the first group of KNBS students joined us for a work day in the orchard. They worked extremely hard turning the compost bays, raking the grass and eating biscuits.
