Trikeydink

Trikeydink

The trikeydink is a mobile, pedal-powered sound system.
The rear wheel of a tandem is connected via a large fan-belt to a generator. This produces electricity which is smoothed by varoius electronics to produce a stable 12V supply of power

This is then fed into batteries which act as electricity 'reservoirs' to store any excess power and allow the music to keep running for a time even after people have stopped pedalling. The batteries are then connected to a 240V car inverter (which allows you to plug in normal mains equipment) and a 12V audio amplifier.

The Trikeydink's first public appearance was at the Vale Festival at Birmingham University in 2007 and will be reappearing for the CoCoMAD Procession on the 5th of July 2008.

You can discuss the trikeydink on the trikeydink discussion forums which can be found at cotteridgepark.org.uk/trikeydinkforum
